If it wasn't a separate app, stand alone license users would end up with an unusable app when they updated. There's no direct upgrade path from 1Password 7 to the latest release. If something doesn't work, that's all you can say. It's because some 1Password 7 users still have a standalone license, which won't work with version 8. On 1PW 8, both these features are gone, making 1PW substantially less secure. So you have to diagnose the software yourself. On Windows, in 1PW 7, you could go into Windows protected mode called 'Secure Desktop' to enter your password which would protect you from most keyloggers, and on Android you could set your vault to auto lock in periods shorter than 2 weeks. ![]() Cust Svce responds quickly, but you get different answers from each person.
